What Does the Watch Do in Phasmophobia?
The watch is a multifunctional tool designed to assist players during investigations. It provides three critical functions:
- Sanity Monitoring: The outer circle of the watch visually represents your current sanity level. This is the only tool that allows you to track sanity from outside the truck.
- Elapsed Time Tracking: The central timer keeps a running count of how long you’ve been inside the contract. This helps you monitor the setup phase duration.
- Microphone Status Indicator: A microphone icon at the bottom of the watch turns from transparent grey to solid white when your microphone is actively being picked up.
Note: The watch is permanently equipped and cannot be removed or unequipped.
How to View Your Watch in Phasmophobia
There are two methods to view your watch, depending on whether your left hand is occupied:
Method 1: Open the Journal (Recommended)
This is the easiest and most reliable way to check your watch. When you open the Journal, both hands are occupied holding it, allowing you to see the watch on your left wrist.
Method 2: Hold Down the Use Button (Left Hand Must Be Empty)
If your left hand is free, you can hold down the Use button to view your watch. The button assignment varies by platform and can be customized:
- Open the Journal and navigate to Options.
- Select the Controls tab.
- Scroll down to find the Hold Use option to see your assigned button.
- You can reassign the button to your preference from this menu.
How to Equip the Watch in Phasmophobia
The watch is automatically equipped on all players by default. There is no option to remove or unequip it, ensuring it is always available during investigations.
Why the Watch Is Essential in Phasmophobia
The watch’s real-time feedback on sanity, time, and microphone status makes it an invaluable tool for coordinating with your team and managing investigations effectively. Mastering its use will significantly improve your gameplay experience.
