Democrats secured a major victory in Virginia on Tuesday night after voters approved a redistricting measure that could add more Democratic seats in the House of Representatives.

On Wednesday morning, Joy Behar, co-host of The View, expressed her enthusiasm for the measure, which she saw as Democrats fighting back against Republican-led redistricting efforts.

The ABC hosts kicked off their Hot Topics segment by discussing gerrymandering, questioning what happens when states repeatedly shift redistricting power back and forth. However, the women largely praised Democrats for implementing the Virginia measure to counter Trump-backed redistricting in key states like Texas.

“It’s fun to watch the Democrats find their testicularity, you know?” Behar said. “And with some of the Republicans turning on Trump also.”

Behar then mocked a social media post by her “best friend” Marjorie Taylor Greene, laughing loudly at her own joke. Greene had lamented how red states were turning blue due to Trump’s policies, which Behar called “kind of heartwarming.”

Sunny Hostin agreed with Behar’s praise for Democrats’ boldness, criticizing how Republicans had previously manipulated redistricting without public approval.

“The Republican party did start this,” she said. “They started it in Texas, and they didn’t do it by the will of the people, they didn’t have an election, they didn’t put it on the ballot. They did it within the legislature. And Texas stole—well, redistricted—and took five seats.”

Hostin added that Democratic redistricting in California could balance the scales, but she fully supported Democrats fighting back in other states as well.

“I’ve got to tell you, when they go low, I think you go to the Earth’s crust,” she said. “You got to meet the freakin’ energy!”

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
