Lego Technic has launched a new Custom Garage Ford Mustang GT set, offering builders a creative way to customize their model with swappable body kits. The 973-piece set arrives on August 1 and retails for $99.99.
The set provides a "journey of creativity" by allowing owners to mix and match components from two distinct body styles: a standard road-going Mustang GT and a high-performance racing variant. The standard model features a vibrant exterior with blue and pink accents, a roof-mounted knob for steering, and an opening hood revealing a moving eight-cylinder engine.
The racing kit includes 12 alternate components, such as:
- A ram air hood
- An aggressive front splitter
- A large rear wing
- Sportier rear end
- Unique side skirts
- Doors with graffiti-inspired graphics
Builders can combine parts from both kits to create a one-of-a-kind design. The set is recommended for ages 10 and up and measures approximately 10.5 inches (27 cm) long, 5 inches (13 cm) wide, and 3.5 inches (9 cm) tall when assembled.
Lego also highlighted that the set can be built using the Builder app, which provides digital instructions with 3D rotation and progress tracking features.
