Ford has introduced the Mustang GTD Spirit of America Edition, a limited-run model designed to honor the United States’ upcoming 250th anniversary. The vehicle combines high-performance engineering with patriotic aesthetics, featuring a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine and a striking asymmetrical stripe design.

Performance and Design: A Celebration of American Ingenuity

At the heart of the Mustang GTD Spirit of America Edition is a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 that delivers 815 horsepower (608 kW / 826 PS) and 664 lb-ft (899 Nm) of torque. This powertrain enables the pony car to achieve a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h), positioning it as a formidable track and road machine.

The model’s exterior design pays homage to American heritage with a Performance White base coat adorned by Lightning Blue and Race Red stripes. The asymmetrical stripe pattern is a standout feature: the central blue stripe runs the full length of the car, while the red and blue stripes begin at the hood extractors and terminate at the rear spoiler. Exposed carbon fiber accents and Forgeline wheels further enhance its aggressive stance.

Ford describes the Mustang GTD Spirit of America Edition as a tribute to "American ingenuity," drawing a parallel to the original model’s celebration of Craig Breedlove’s jet-powered land speed record car, which surpassed 600 mph (966 km/h). While the automaker frames the model as a nod to U.S. innovation, critics may view the patriotic theme as a strategic marketing move.

North American customers interested in the Mustang GTD Spirit of America Edition can submit an application until May 18. However, Ford has not yet disclosed pricing or delivery timelines for the limited-edition model.
