The Capricorn 01 Zagato Tutto Rosso, a one-off supercar, will make its global debut at the 2026 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on May 16. This striking prototype represents the third validation model in Capricorn’s development program, with production slated for late 2026.
Design: A Bold Commitment to Red
Ninety-five percent of the Tutto Rosso’s visible surfaces are finished in a deep red, including the wheels, cabin, and mechanical hardware. Capricorn draws inspiration from 1930s racing cars, particularly the 1931 Alfa Romeo 6C bodied by Zagato, rather than Ferrari’s all-red aesthetic. The carbon fiber monocoque itself is infused with a red-tinted resin, ensuring the color penetrates the structure without compromising strength. Heat-prone engine bay components remain black for durability.
The interior features red Connolly leather and red Alcantara, with exceptions for the pedals, gated manual lever, analogue dial faces, and select steering wheel trim pieces.
Performance: Ford V8 Power with a Manual Gearbox
The mechanical package is unchanged from Capricorn’s broader 01 Zagato program. A mid-mounted 5.2-litre supercharged V8, derived from a 5.0-litre Ford block, delivers 888 hp (662 kW / 900 PS) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a CIMA five-speed dogleg manual transmission.
With a dry weight of under 1,200 kg (2,646 lbs), the Tutto Rosso is expected to achieve a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in under 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 360 km/h (224 mph).
Production and Pricing
Capricorn has confirmed that the Tutto Rosso prototype incorporates technical refinements that will be applied to the upcoming production models. Following its Villa d’Este debut, the car will return to the testing circuit for final calibration.
Production of the 01 Zagato is strictly limited to 19 units, a nod to Zagato’s founding year of 1919. The base price is set at €2.95 million ($3.43 million) before taxes, with only a handful of slots remaining available.
