Mansory has unveiled the Azura, a radical two-door convertible based on the Mercedes-Benz G63, set to debut at Top Marques Monaco next month. The custom-tuned G-Wagen features a shortened wheelbase, Rolls-Royce-style suicide doors, and a white fabric soft top, redefining luxury and performance in the off-road segment.

Transforming the G63 into a Two-Door Convertible

The Mansory Azura begins with a chopped G63, where Mansory shortens the wheelbase and converts the four-door model into a sleek two-door convertible. This transformation requires extensive bodywork modifications, including structural reinforcements and precise cuts to achieve the desired proportions.

Luxury Touches: Suicide Doors and a Soft Top

To enhance the luxury experience, Mansory adds suicide doors at the front, inspired by Rolls-Royce designs. These doors open in the opposite direction of conventional doors, creating a dramatic entry and exit. Complementing the suicide doors is a white fabric soft top, adding a touch of elegance and exclusivity to the convertible.

A Radical Body Kit for a Striking Presence

The Mansory Azura’s exterior is defined by a bold body kit that includes:

  • Flared wheel arches at the front and rear for an aggressive stance.
  • A dramatic new fascia featuring a redesigned grille, larger air intakes, and angular LED daytime running lights.
  • Louvers on the front quarter panels for improved airflow and a sportier look.
  • Retractable side steps for easier entry and exit.
  • A set of massive custom wheels finished in the same color as the body, enhancing the vehicle’s commanding presence.

An Aquarium-Inspired Interior

The Mansory Azura’s interior is a visual spectacle, designed to immerse occupants in a turquoise-themed environment reminiscent of an aquarium. Nearly every surface is clad in turquoise-colored leather, including the seats, door panels, dashboard, and steering wheel. The remaining areas feature exposed carbon fiber with blue flakes, adding a high-tech contrast to the opulent leather.

Performance Upgrades: 820 HP from a Retuned V8

The Mansory Azura ditches the standard Mercedes-AMG engine in favor of a heavily upgraded 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. Mansory’s modifications include:

  • New turbochargers for improved airflow and power delivery.
  • Custom downpipes and exhaust system for enhanced performance.
  • A comprehensive engine tune to maximize output.

The result is a staggering 820 horsepower and 848 lb-ft (1,150 Nm) of torque, allowing the Azura to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 4.0 seconds. This performance upgrade transforms the G-Wagen from a rugged off-roader into a high-performance luxury machine capable of outpacing many supercars.

Exclusivity and Price

Mansory has not disclosed the exact price of the Azura, but given its extensive customization and performance upgrades, it is expected to command a deep six-figure sum. The limited production run ensures exclusivity, with only a handful of buyers likely to afford this bespoke creation.

Whether the Mansory Azura justifies its price tag is a question only the few potential buyers can answer. However, its bold design, luxurious features, and exceptional performance make it a standout in the world of high-end custom vehicles.
