Marvel Rivals is set to expand its roster with a truly prehistoric addition as Devil Dinosaur joins the lineup for Season 8, launching this Friday, May 15.

The announcement, teased in a recent social media post, confirms that the newest hero is none other than the 20-foot-tall T-Rex from an alternate reality known as Earth-78411. This primitive-era dinosaur is no stranger to teamwork, often paired with Moon-Girl (or Moon-Boy) as an inseparable duo in Marvel’s comics and animated series.

Devil Dinosaur’s inclusion follows the game’s trend of featuring unconventional playable characters, including Jeff the Land Shark and a raccoon, further diversifying the roster with a menagerie of animalistic heroes.

"Devil Dinosaur is traditionally depicted as massive, so an educated guess would be that it will be a Vanguard hero."

Marvel’s lore describes Devil Dinosaur as possessing superhuman strength and Neuralkinesis—the ability to transfer a person’s mind from one body to another. These traits suggest gameplay mechanics that extend beyond sheer size, offering unique strategic possibilities.

The reveal of Devil Dinosaur and Season 8’s full roster is expected to drop tomorrow, ahead of the season’s launch. In-game lore from Season 7 hints at another upcoming hero: Cyclops of the X-Men, slated to join mid-season in June.

Fans are particularly excited about the potential inclusion of Moon-Girl, given her close partnership with Devil Dinosaur in recent Marvel media. As the duo’s adventures often go hand-in-hand, their combined presence in Marvel Rivals could add a compelling narrative layer to the game.
