Manus, an AI company acquired by Meta for $2 billion last year, is running a campaign that promotes a get-rich-quick scheme centered around its AI tools. The ads claim users can make easy money by identifying local businesses without websites or with poorly designed ones, using Manus' AI to build a new site, and then selling the service to the business owners.

The campaign includes payments to content creators to promote the AI product on platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. These creators were tasked with building out accounts that framed the AI service as a simple and lucrative side hustle. However, after inquiries from The Verge, some of the TikTok accounts promoting Manus were removed. Additionally, while some promotional videos appeared as official ads for Manus, the content shared by paid creators often obscured their financial ties to the company.
