Motorola’s Razr Plus and Razr 2026 are the latest victims of shrinkflation, a trend where consumers pay more for products that offer little to no additional value. The company has raised the price of its midtier and entry-level flip phones by $100 compared to previous models, despite minimal upgrades.

The 2026 Razr Plus now retails for $1,099, up from $999 in 2025. The device continues to use the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 chipset, which was released two years ago, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. While the battery capacity has increased from 4,000mAh to 4,500mAh, this remains one of the few notable improvements.

Other changes are even more underwhelming. The main camera hardware remains unchanged, and Motorola has swapped the previous generation’s 50-megapixel 2x telephoto lens for a different model, though specifics are not detailed in the report.

The Razr Plus is currently available in only one color option, though Motorola has not disclosed which color that is.
