Fans of the Pokémon franchise can now get an early listen to the main theme of the upcoming mainline game, Pokémon Winds and Waves, thanks to a newly released behind-the-scenes video from Nintendo and Game Freak.
The video, titled "Main Theme Recording – Behind the Scenes", offers a rare glimpse into the orchestral recording process. While the specific name of the track is not disclosed, it is referred to as the "Main Theme" for the new game. The footage features the Tokyo NHK Symphony Orchestra performing the piece, interspersed with scenes from the game’s locations and familiar characters, including Pikachu.
This marks the second major update for Pokémon Winds and Waves, following its announcement during the 30th anniversary Pokémon Presents Direct in February 2026. The showcase introduced gameplay footage, returning Pokémon, trainer designs, and the three new starter Pokémon:
- Pombon (Fire-type)
- Browt (Grass-type)
- Gecqua (Water-type)
The game is confirmed for a 2027 release on the Nintendo Switch 2, with the full soundtrack, including the main theme, expected to launch alongside it.
