MSNBC host Rachel Maddow dedicated a segment of The Rachel Maddow Show on Monday night to celebrate ‘Epic Furious’, a newly released arcade game that satirizes former President Donald Trump and the Iran War. Maddow revealed that she spent "too much time" playing the game this week.
The game was developed by Secret Handshake, an anonymous collective of anti-Trump activists. This group has previously gained attention for creating life-sized statues of Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, which have appeared in Washington, D.C.
During the segment, Maddow highlighted a new installation in the nation’s capital tied to the game. She noted that Trump had named his potential military action in Iran ‘Operation Epic Fury’, which she called "hilarious in its own right."
Maddow then introduced the game’s full title: ‘Operation Epic Furious: Strait to Hell’. She shared photos of arcade machines set up at the War Memorial in Washington, D.C., and encouraged viewers to visit and play them in person.
"You can go see them there. They’re out in public. They work. You can play them," Maddow said.
For those outside the D.C. area, Maddow explained that an online version of the game is also available. She described some of the game’s features and mechanics:
- Players take on the role of President Trump.
- Gameplay includes ordering Diet Cokes, burning Epstein files, and deciding whether to invade Iran.
- After completing these tasks, players can leave the White House by helicopter to engage in combat in Iran.
- Successful combat earns players in-game rewards such as oil and Truth Social posts written on toilet paper rolls.
Maddow also detailed the game’s conclusion. The only way to finish the game is to return to the White House and meet with First Lady Melania Trump. The first line she delivers is: ‘I was never on the Epstein jet!’
She then asks if all Epstein files have been burned. Players can respond by confirming they are working on it or by asking to hold her hand—choosing the latter results in an immediate game over.
"The only way to end the game is to go back to the White House and see Melania [Trump], and the first thing she says to you when you see her is, ‘I was never on the Epstein jet!’" Maddow explained. "She will then ask you if you have burned all the Epstein files. You can tell her you are working on it or you can ask to hold her hand, in which case — game over."
Maddow laughed as she recounted the game’s plot and her own struggles with it.
"I’m terrible at video games. I spent way too much time with this today," she admitted. "At one point, [Vice President] JD Vance pops up in Iran and tells Trump that he has been taking all his cognitive tests for him, and I laughed out loud and messed up the whole game and had to start over."
Concluding her segment, Maddow emphasized the creators’ anonymity but expressed her support for their work.
"This is from the folks at Secret Handshake. We do not know who they are," Maddow said. "But honestly? Long may they wave."
