Spencer Pratt, a first-time politician and mayoral candidate in Los Angeles, gained attention for a campaign ad that went viral. In the ad, he compared his opponents’ homes to his own property, which was destroyed in the Palisades fire. The ad prominently featured an Airstream trailer, with Pratt stating, “This is where I live.”

However, according to a TMZ report, Pratt never actually lived in the trailer. Instead, he has been staying at the Hotel Bel-Air for over a month. His wife, Heidi Montag, and their children are currently residing in Carpinteria, just north of Los Angeles.

Pratt addressed the discrepancy in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on May 13, 2026. He wrote,

“Hey guys, why don’t they wanna talk about why I need a hotel in the first place? Karen Bass let my home burn down. Also 6,000 of my neighbors. NBD.”

The post sparked further discussion about the aftermath of the Palisades fire and Pratt’s living situation. As of now, no additional details have been released regarding his campaign or housing arrangements.
