ABC has confirmed that Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of ‘The Bachelorette’ will not air during its summer 2025 slate, despite persistent rumors suggesting otherwise. The decision follows the show’s removal from the network’s spring schedule after a video surfaced showing a domestic violence incident involving Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.
Online tipster Reality Steve fueled speculation that the season would debut this summer, but ABC’s official summer schedule did not include the series. The season was originally scheduled to premiere on March 22, 2025, but was canceled following the release of the video.
Disney, ABC’s parent company, released a statement on March 19, 2025, announcing the decision:
“In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of ‘The Bachelorette’ at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”
While the absence from the summer slate suggests the season may not air soon, Rob Mills, EVP of unscripted and alternative entertainment at Walt Disney Television, left the door open for a future return. Speaking to TheWrap in late April 2025, Mills stated:
“We take everything a day at a time. We’re sort of really still processing everything and figuring out … planning for the next cycles of ‘The Bachelor’ franchise, and really just kind of looking at everything, and first and foremost, honestly, just making sure that Taylor, her family, everyone is being taken care of, just on a personal and human front.”
In the meantime, ABC has renewed several of its reality shows for the 2026-27 TV season, including ‘The Bachelor,’ ‘Bachelor in Paradise,’ and ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
While ‘The Bachelorette’ season remains in limbo, ABC’s summer 2025 schedule includes the following unscripted series:
