During a meeting with a prospective client—a private mining company owned by an individual under sanctions—Rudolph warned that organizing the deal could lead to imprisonment. However, the conversation took a far more alarming turn.

Rudolph proceeded to pitch the mining company on First Wap’s advanced phone-tracking software, boasting that it could pinpoint the real-time location of any person in the world. "I think we’re the only one who can deliver," he told the client.

What Rudolph did not realize: His client was an undercover journalist from Lighthouse Reports, an investigative newsroom based in the Netherlands.
