White House Aide Behind Trump’s Late-Night Truth Social Posts Sparks Tensions in Inner Circle

Even Donald Trump’s inner circle is growing weary of his unpredictable, late-night social media activity—and the White House aide enabling it.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump’s executive assistant, Natalie Harp, is the person behind his overnight posts on Truth Social. Harp, who works overnight shifts, has cultivated the perception that the president remains active well past typical bedtime, retweeting baseless 2020 election conspiracies and Fox News headlines about his alleged popularity.

Sources told The Journal that the 34-year-old aide provides Trump with stacks of printed drafts for approval before posting. Some of her work has included highly controversial content, such as an image depicting former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as apes, and an AI-generated depiction of Trump as Jesus Christ. Both posts were later removed following significant public backlash.

In the case of the Obama image, Trump claimed he did not see the section mocking the former president and first lady, attributing the error to an editing mistake. A White House official later blamed the incident on an editing oversight.

The arrangement has heightened tensions, particularly regarding Harp’s perceived disregard for standard chain of command. She reportedly shares drafts exclusively with Trump, asserting that she works only for him. This approach has created friction with other White House staff, including the chief of staff’s office.

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung acknowledged Trump’s reliance on Truth Social as his primary communication tool but declined to discuss internal processes.

“Truth Social has never been hotter, and it’s because President Trump offers his unfiltered and direct thoughts to the American people, without the biased media taking him out of context. We don’t discuss internal deliberations of how the process works, but no other social-media tool has been more effective than Truth.”

Cheung’s statement underscores the administration’s public stance while avoiding details about how Harp’s role operates behind the scenes.
