Blaze Entertainment, the company behind the popular Evercade handhelds and Super Pocket systems, has officially announced two new retro-inspired handheld gaming devices: THEC64 and The Spectrum.

Both devices adopt a DS and 3DS-style clamshell design, allowing users to fold them shut for protection when not in use. Each handheld comes pre-loaded with 25 classic games and is priced at:

  • $129.99 (North America) / £109.99 (UK) / €129.99 (Europe) for the standard edition
  • $149.99 (North America) / £129.99 (UK) / €149.99 (Europe) for the collector’s edition

The collector’s edition includes a protective case and either a copy of Crash or Zzap!64 magazine.

Release Date and Availability

The THEC64 and The Spectrum handhelds are set to launch in October 2026 in North America and Europe.

  • A 4.3-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 800×480
  • Built-in controls for immediate gameplay
  • A microSD slot for expanding the game library with user-provided titles
  • Optional keyboard and joystick attachments for enhanced play

Additional Announcements

Blaze Entertainment also revealed plans for the Evercade Nexus, another handheld device set for release in October 2026. One of the available cartridges for the Nexus will be a Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack.
