Who Is Clara Vought?

Clara Vought, played by Aya Cash, is one of the most formidable villains introduced in The Boys Season 2. A white supremacist with a decades-long history of manipulation and violence, she rivals even Homelander as a central antagonist. Born Klara Risinger in 1919, her journey spans from Nazi Germany to the heights of Vought International’s power.

Clara Vought’s Early Life and Nazi Ties

Born in Berlin in 1919, Klara Risinger was documented as associating with the National Socialist German Workers Party during the 1930s. It was during this time that she met and married Frederick Vought, the inventor of Compound V and a respected geneticist within the Nazi Party. Frederick was later appointed chief physician of Dachau concentration camp by Adolf Hitler, where he conducted horrific human experiments.

From Klara Risinger to Adele Vought

After taking a dose of Compound V, Klara gained superhuman abilities, including electrokinesis and superhuman strength. In 1944, she and Frederick were brought to the U.S. as part of Operation Paperclip, a WWII effort to recruit German scientists. Frederick founded Vought-American, which later became Vought International. Klara changed her name to Adele Vought—possibly to distance herself from anti-German sentiment.

Liberty: Clara’s First Superhero Persona

By the 1950s, Clara (now using an Anglicized name) operated as a Supe under the alias Liberty. She met Soldier Boy, who had adapted to a dose of V1, along with other Supes like Private Angel, Bombsight, and Torpedo. Clara and Soldier Boy co-founded the infamous annual superhero orgy Herogasm and reportedly began a decades-long romance.

Stormfront: Clara’s Return and White Supremacist Agenda

Clara continued as Liberty until the late 1970s, when she was linked to racially motivated murders. Between 1979 and 2020, her whereabouts were unknown—including during the 1984 incident where Vought betrayed Soldier Boy to the Russians. In 2020, she resurfaced as Stormfront, posing as a social media-savvy Supe from Portland. Under Vought International CEO Stan Edgar, she joined The Seven and began a toxic romance with Homelander, pushing him toward greater villainy.

Clara’s Daughter: The Mystery of Chloe

During The Boys Season 2, Clara revealed she and Frederick had a daughter named Chloe, who never took Compound V. Her fate remains unknown, adding another layer to Clara’s tragic and villainous legacy.

Clara Vought’s Return in Upcoming Prequel Series

A prequel series will soon put Clara front and center again, this time alongside Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles). The show will explore her origins and the dark history of Vought International, offering deeper insight into one of The Boys most complex antagonists.

"Clara Vought is not just a villain—she is the embodiment of Vought’s legacy of corruption, racism, and unchecked power."
