Germany’s G-Power has transformed the BMW M5 G90 into a 999-horsepower beast, raising its output from the factory’s 727 hp. The M5 G90 is a plug-in hybrid, pairing its internal combustion engine with a 194-hp electric motor, but G-Power’s focus remains solely on maximizing the combustion engine’s potential.
How G-Power Achieves 999 HP in the BMW M5 G90
The 999 hp figure is unlocked through a combination of performance upgrades, including:
- G-Power downpipes with 200-cell sports catalysts
- Deeptone exhaust system for enhanced acoustics
- Higher-performance intercoolers to improve engine efficiency
- Eventuri carbon air intake for optimized airflow
- GP-1000 software update to fine-tune engine performance
While G-Power has not disclosed the exact acoustic changes, the intake and exhaust modifications are expected to deliver a more engaging driving experience.
Stage-by-Stage Upgrades and Pricing
G-Power offers the M5 G90 upgrades in multiple stages, allowing buyers to tailor their performance gains:
- Stage 1: GP-1000 software update delivers 850 PS (838 hp)
- Stage 2: Adding sports silencers increases power incrementally
- Stage 3: Downpipes further boost output
- Stage 4: Full kit includes all upgrades and a 155 mph top-speed limiter delete
The full 999 hp upgrade package is priced at approximately €35,000 (around $41,160). G-Power has not revealed the potential top speed or additional performance metrics, but the stock M5 G90 accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds and reaches 124 mph in 10.9 seconds. With over 250 additional horsepower, the tuned M5 is expected to deliver significantly improved acceleration.
Available for M5 Sedan and Touring Models
The upgrades are compatible with both the M5 sedan and the M5 Touring (long-roof) variants. For those looking to showcase their M5’s enhanced performance, G-Power offers a decal kit. Interior customization options include a leather and Alcantara re-trim to add a touch of luxury to the cabin.
