Comedian Jimmy Kimmel unleashed a biting monologue on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Senate testimony, joking that the health secretary sounded like he was “dying” during his testimony before Senate committees.

During Wednesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, Kimmel opened by referencing Kennedy’s recent Senate grilling, which included interruptions from senators like Elizabeth Warren. The host quipped that Kennedy was cut into “like a raccoon penis,” a reference to the Trump loyalist’s recent scandal.

Kimmel then mocked Kennedy’s claim that Donald Trump “has a different way of calculating” while defending the president’s assertion that Trump RX had reduced drug prices by 600%.

“Who are you going to believe? Him or math?” Kimmel asked. “Have you ever bankrupted a casino? I don’t think so.”

He continued: “Now, the actual math is 98%, not 600%, but let’s not get caught up in semantics. Let’s just be quiet and listen to Robert Kennedy breathe.”

The show then aired a compilation of clips from Kennedy’s Senate appearance, highlighting his labored, loud breaths throughout the testimony.

“You understand our secretary of health is dying before our eyes,” Kimmel declared, “and no one is doing anything about it!”

Kennedy often speaks with noticeable difficulty due to a condition called spasmodic dysphonia (also known as laryngeal dystonia). In January, he told USA TODAY that he suspected a past flu vaccine may have triggered the condition.

“That’s why my voice is so screwed up,” Kennedy said. “Do I know whether that was caused by my annual flu shot? I have no idea. It’s a possibility. It’s a potential culprit that I cannot rule out. I can’t prove it.”

While Kennedy has been associated with anti-vaccine rhetoric, he clarified at the time that his stance was about improving vaccine safety testing, stating: “My concern is that we should properly safety-test vaccines so that people understand—and we are able to understand—the risks.”

Despite his condition, Kennedy testified before Senate committees about the rise in measles outbreaks during his tenure as health secretary. He complained, “Every Democrat in this committee, all they wanted to do was talk about measles.”
