Katherine Legge is set to make her fifth start at the Indianapolis 500 this May, confirmed as the 33rd—and likely final—entry for the 2025 race. Unlike previous appearances, Legge will not drive a Honda this year. Instead, she will pilot the No. 11 car, fielded by AJ Foyt Racing in collaboration with Indy NXT team HMD Motorsports.
Legge’s primary sponsor remains e.l.f. Cosmetics, a brand that has supported her in multiple racing ventures, including past Indy 500 campaigns. According to Racer.com, she has also received significant backing from General Motors. On the technical side, Team Penske will provide support to the team and Legge.
Legge’s Gratitude and Determination
“We worked incredibly hard to be back at this year’s Indianapolis 500, and I don’t take a single moment of it for granted. I’m beyond grateful to e.l.f. Cosmetics for believing that women deserve to take up space in every arena—including this one. Together, we’re proving that when you invest in a woman’s dream, there’s no limit to what she can achieve.”
“It honestly feels like Christmas being back at the 500. Every time I return, I gain a deeper appreciation for what it takes—not just to compete here, but to earn the opportunity to be here in the first place. I’m reminded that I’m a small part of this enormously storied event.”
Key Details About the 2025 Indy 500
Legge is the only female driver confirmed for the 110th edition of the Indianapolis 500. With the race less than a month away, it is highly unlikely that any additional entries will be added—or that any drivers will be bumped during qualifying.
Her return to IndyCar and the Indy 500 is widely welcomed, though fans may hope for improved fortunes compared to her 2024 outing. Last year, a mechanical issue forced her to retire after just 22 laps.
