Lynk & Co is set to make a bold statement at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, scheduled for April 24, with the debut of its first GT concept car. The performance-focused model breaks from the brand’s traditional SUV and sedan lineup, signaling a potential new direction for the Geely-owned manufacturer.

The upcoming GT concept adopts a sleek two-door coupe stance, hinting at a front-engined, rear-wheel-drive sports car. Its proportions draw comparisons to the now-discontinued Jaguar F-Type, featuring a long dash-to-axle ratio, a sculpted low profile, and planted rear shoulders. The sloping roofline seamlessly integrates with full-width LED taillights, while the rising beltline echoes the design language of the Lynk & Co 10+ sedan.

While details remain scarce, the concept is expected to utilize existing Geely architecture, leaving the door open for either a fully electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain. This approach could accelerate its path to production, positioning it closer to reality than the 2022 Next Day concept, which featured a longer body and four suicide doors.

If realized, the GT concept could enter a competitive segment, potentially rivaling the Porsche 911, Mercedes-AMG GT, and China’s MG Cyberster. The model underscores Lynk & Co’s racing pedigree, particularly its success in the TCR championship, where it has competed since 2019 under its own banner after taking over from Volvo’s Polestar racing program.

Volvo to Handle European Operations for Lynk & Co

In a significant shift, Lynk & Co is undergoing a restructuring of its global operations. Volvo Cars and Geely Auto have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, transferring commercial and brand operations for Lynk & Co to Volvo in Europe. Under this agreement, Volvo will act as the exclusive importer and distributor across the continent, leveraging its established retailer and service networks.

This transition marks a departure from Lynk & Co’s previous subscription-heavy model in Europe, moving toward a more traditional retail structure. The move aligns with Volvo’s broader strategy to expand its influence in the European market while supporting Lynk & Co’s growth.

For now, Lynk & Co continues to focus on its upcoming GT concept, which could redefine the brand’s identity and appeal to enthusiasts seeking high-performance vehicles.
