Actor Mark Ruffalo joined a growing chorus of critics targeting conservative commentator Scott Jennings after Jennings cursed out a journalist live on CNN on Thursday night. Ruffalo took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday to mock Jennings’ reaction, writing that 'as Trump melts down, so do his enablers.'

The exchange unfolded during a segment of CNN NewsNight With Abby Phillips, where Jennings sparred with 23-year-old MeidasTouch podcaster Adam Mockler. The debate escalated until Jennings dropped an expletive while Mockler pressed him to name a single political concession Iran had made to the United States in the first 60 days of the war.

Ruffalo suggested Jennings’ reaction reflects a broader pattern among supporters of former President Donald Trump as the conflict intensifies. In a series of posts on X, Ruffalo wrote:

"Scott gets very hot and bothered by a smart man that’s younger than him. It is hilarious how entitled and superior he acts when you bring up real cogent points. Or makes slights about your masculinity like a man who is worried about his own. But like all MAGA’s they demand agreement without earning it and resort to violence when they are being bested on ideas. Good job staying on point and composed."
"As Trump melts down so do his enablers. One day he will pretend he was always against this. Like all the neocon hacks of Iraq. And all the boosters for the genocide against the Palestinian people. And the Epstein Class. They only follow power and have no real moral center."

Ruffalo also shared a clip of the segment, adding, 'Scott gets very hot and bothered by a smart man that’s younger than him.'

During the CNN NewsNight segment, Jennings initially joked that Mockler was 'hyper' due to being past his bedtime. Mockler, however, remained composed and pressed Jennings on the duration of the war with Iran. Mockler challenged Jennings’ shifting timeline, saying:

"Wait a minute, I debated you on TV four to six weeks ago and you said we were weeks away from it. Now you’re making condescending remarks because you can’t defend the fact that this war is not going your way."

It was at this point that Jennings lost his composure. He snapped at Mockler, shouting:

"Get your f--king hand out of my face, first of all."

CNN host Abby Phillip quickly intervened to de-escalate the situation. Mockler later commented on X about Jennings’ reaction, stating:

"He throws a personal jab… then folds the second he gets pressed. Scott loves to dish it but can’t take it."
