A newly unveiled golden statue of Donald Trump at one of his golf courses has drawn sharp criticism from the hosts of ABC’s The View, who dismissed it as an example of "small dictator energy."

The statue was installed at Trump National Doral Miami and introduced by Pastor John Mark Burns, a spiritual advisor to the former president. During Monday’s episode of The View, co-host Ana Navarro questioned whether the statue even resembled Trump.

"I actually don’t know who that statue [is] of, because it’s a skinny guy with a tight neck," Navarro remarked.

While Navarro acknowledged Trump’s right to erect the statue on his property—joking that "he wants to put a giant penis in there, go ahead and do it"—she argued that the golden statue is "tone deaf" given the financial struggles of average Americans.

"And then, you know, it gives, like, wannabe dictator, small dictator energy," Navarro added, citing dictators such as Kim Jong Un, Saddam Hussein, and Joseph Stalin, all of whom had statues of themselves erected.

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg reminded viewers that Trump has also displayed banners featuring his face on major buildings in Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, co-host Sunny Hostin called the statue "tacky."

The statue has also faced criticism for its religious undertones, with comparisons drawn to the golden calf in the Book of Exodus. However, Pastor Burns rejected these comparisons on social media.

"I’m not a biblical scholar, but I do think we know the story of the golden calf," said co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin. "If you have to say it’s not a golden calf, you’re probably going a little too close to idolatry."

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
