アーカンソー州ウェストメンフィスにあるWonder Junior High Schoolの教師、トレイシー・マシューズ氏（38歳）が、生徒に対する暴行容疑で逮捕された。
事件は、マシューズ教師が生徒に「コンピューターを持っていますか？」と尋ねたことに始まる。これに対し生徒は「Bruh、コンピューターなんて持ってないよ」と答えた。教師は「Bruhではなく、Sirと呼ぶように」と注意したが、生徒は「了解、リトル・ブラザー」と返答した。
その後、教師は生徒のシャツをつかみ、机に押し付けた。さらに教室を出た生徒を追いかけ、廊下で壁に叩きつけ首を絞めたという。
生徒は校長に通報し、校長は防犯カメラの映像を確認した上で警察に通報した。
マシューズ教師は現在、加重暴行罪で起訴されている。
