米国時間6月10日、HBO Maxの人気シリーズ「ザ・ピット」シーズン2ファイナルが放送され、初回4日間で970万人の視聴を記録した。
シーズン2全体の米国平均視聴者数は1540万人に達し、前シーズン（シーズン1）の視聴者数を50%上回る好成績となった。また、HBO Maxで1500万人を超える視聴を記録したシリーズとしては6作目にあたる。
「ザ・ピット」は、架空の都市ピッツバーグを舞台に、警察官、医師、政治家など様々な立場の人々が織りなす人間ドラマを描くシリーズ。シーズン2では、新たな事件や人々の葛藤が描かれ、視聴者の注目を集めた。
HBO Maxの幹部は、「シーズン2の成功は、シリーズの魅力と視聴者の支持を証明するものだ」とコメント。今後のシーズン3に向けても期待が高まっている。
