アップルは11日、ティム・クックCEOが退任し、執行委員長に就任すると発表した。2011年にスティーブ・ジョブズ氏からCEOを引き継いだクック氏は、10年以上にわたり同社を率いてきた。
後任のCEOには、ジョン・テアナ氏が就任する。テアナ氏はこれまでアップルの上級幹部として、製品開発やグローバル戦略を担ってきた実績を持つ。
同社は声明で「クック氏のリーダーシップの下、アップルは革新的な製品とサービスを通じて世界をリードし続け、時価総額で歴史的な成長を遂げた」と強調した。
新体制の下で、アップルは引き続きテクノロジー業界の最前線でイノベーションを推進する方針だ。
