The Adamastor Furia is a new supercar from Portugal that packs serious performance under its carbon fiber body. Powered by the same twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine found in the Ford GT, the Furia delivers 650 horsepower and 421 lb-ft of torque.
Produced by the small Portuguese automaker Adamastor, the Furia is a limited-run hypercar with just 60 examples planned. Pricing starts at $1.9 million (€1.6 million before VAT), positioning it among the most exclusive track-focused supercars on the market.
Design and Inspiration
The Furia’s design draws clear inspiration from the Aston Martin Valkyrie, particularly in its Formula 1-inspired front nose, bulging wheel arches, and exposed suspension components. The cockpit’s cocoon-like shape and rear carbon-fiber diffuser further echo the Valkyrie’s aggressive aesthetic. A simple rear wing completes the rear profile.
Performance and Specifications
The Furia’s powertrain is a high-performance version of the Ford GT’s 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6. This engine is tuned to produce 650 hp and 421 lb-ft of torque, enabling the supercar to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in approximately 3.5 seconds. Its top speed is capped at 186 mph (300 km/h) in road-legal trim.
The car features a sequential transmission sending power to the rear wheels, complemented by AP Racing brakes and adjustable double-wishbone suspension. In track specification, the Furia can generate up to 3,968 lbs (1,799 kg) of downforce at 155 mph (250 km/h).
Market Position and Competition
With its striking design and Ford GT-derived powertrain, the Furia enters a competitive segment alongside established brands like Ferrari and Lamborghini, as well as more exotic options such as Pagani and Koenigsegg. Other notable alternatives include the KTM X-Bow GT-XR, Czinger 21C, and Praga Bohema.
The Furia’s development has included rigorous testing at the Portimao circuit in Portugal. While it shares visual cues with the Valkyrie, the Furia distinguishes itself with its Ford GT-based engine, offering a blend of high performance and relative accessibility in the hypercar market.
