Ferrari has unveiled the HC25, a one-off supercar that marries the mechanical roots of the discontinued F8 Spider with a bold, forward-looking design language. The bespoke model is the latest creation from Ferrari’s Special Projects programme, tailored for a single anonymous client.

The HC25’s bodywork, draped over the F8 Spider’s chassis, signals where Ferrari’s design direction is headed. The project aimed to reinterpret the forms of the brand’s mid-rear-engined spiders while retaining the F8’s last non-electrified V8 engine. Ferrari describes the HC25 as a reinterpretation of the brand’s aesthetic codes, blending heritage with innovation.

Dimensionally, the HC25 is larger than the production F8 Spider, stretching 147 mm (5.8 inches) longer, 27 mm (1.1 inches) wider, and sitting 23 mm (0.9 inches) lower. The proportions enhance its aggressive stance and aerodynamic efficiency.

Design Highlights: A Glimpse into Ferrari’s Future

The HC25’s exterior features a striking black ribbon that wraps horizontally around the custom bodywork, starting at the engine cover and dividing the car into two distinct sections. This design element emphasizes the sculpted rear fenders. An aluminum blade rises from the side intake, doubling as the door handle, adding a futuristic touch.

The front end boasts bespoke aggressive LED headlights, evoking the design language of the SF90, though they are entirely unique. These headlights are connected by Peugeot-style LED fangs that extend across the bumper in a boomerang shape. At the rear, ultra-slim quad LED taillights are integrated into the air vents, paired with a large diffuser and dual tailpipes for enhanced aerodynamics and visual impact.

The paint scheme features a matte Moonlight gray base with gloss black accents and yellow detailing on the prancing horse emblem and brake calipers. The wheels are bespoke 20-inch five-spoke designs in a diamond-cut finish, completing the car’s bespoke aesthetic.

Interior: Familiar Yet Refined

The interior of the HC25 carries over the F8 Spider’s cabin layout, featuring custom upholstery and yellow graphic detailing. Ferrari opted not to reinvent the dashboard for this one-off model, ensuring a seamless blend of familiarity and exclusivity.

Mechanical Prowess: A Pure V8 Experience

Mechanically, the HC25 remains faithful to the F8 Spider’s platform. It is powered by a non-electrified twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8, producing 710 hp (530 kW / 720 PS) and 770 Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque. The engine drives the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivering exhilarating performance without any hybrid assistance.

Ferrari quotes the HC25’s acceleration figures at 2.9 seconds to 100 km/h (62 mph) and 8.2 seconds to 200 km/h (124 mph), with a top speed of 340 km/h (211 mph). The car’s performance metrics underscore its status as a true supercar, blending raw power with precision engineering.

Reveal and Legacy

The HC25 was revealed at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, marking the culmination of two years of collaboration between the unnamed client and Ferrari’s Centro Stile. The price of the HC25 was not disclosed, but given the exclusivity of Ferrari’s Special Projects programme, it is likely to command a seven-figure sum.

The HC25 is the third one-off model built on the F8 platform, following the SP49 Unica (2022) and the SP-8 roadster (2023). Each of these bespoke creations highlights Ferrari’s commitment to blending tradition with innovation, catering to discerning clients who seek the ultimate in automotive exclusivity.
