Toyota Taiwan is commemorating the 60th anniversary of the iconic Corolla with limited-edition models of the Altis sedan, Cross SUV, and Sport hatchback. These special versions feature bronze gold accents, exclusive decals, and commemorative badging, marking the end of the current generation ahead of a major 2027 redesign.

Limited-Edition Models and Design Details

The Corolla Altis 60th Anniversary edition introduces a premium bronze gold finish to the grille and intake garnish, paired with Corolla decals on the sides, 60th anniversary emblems on the front fenders, and 17-inch bi-tone aluminum wheels.

The Corolla Cross 60th Anniversary edition adopts a subtler approach, with bronze gold accents limited to the slim grille and tailgate lettering. The Corolla Sport 60th Anniversary edition features the lightest treatment, retaining its chrome and gloss black garnish while adding anniversary emblems and side decals. Both the Cross and Sport models ride on 18-inch alloy wheels with unique designs.

Interior Upgrades and Powertrain Options

Inside, all three anniversary models receive extensive bronze gold trim on the dashboard, center console, steering wheel, and door cards, complemented by matching stitching. Despite the visual enhancements, there are no mechanical upgrades. The Corolla Altis and Cross are available with either a 1.8-liter gasoline or 1.8-liter hybrid powertrain, while the Corolla Sport continues with its 2.0-liter gasoline engine as the sole option in the region.

Pricing and Availability

The 60th Anniversary Corolla models are now available for pre-order in Taiwan, with prices starting at NT$815,000 (approximately US$25,900) for the Altis, NT$889,000 (approximately US$28,300) for the Cross, and NT$979,000 (approximately US$31,200) for the Sport.

Global Expansion and Future Updates

Toyota is expected to unveil mildly updated versions of its entire Corolla lineup in Japan this July, including 60th anniversary editions covering the Sedan, Sport hatchback, Touring, and Cross body styles. However, it remains uncertain whether similar anniversary treatments will be extended to markets such as Europe and North America.

The current 12th-generation Corolla, which debuted in 2018 and received a facelift in 2022, is nearing the end of its lifecycle. The next-generation model is anticipated to arrive in 2027, potentially drawing inspiration from recent concept vehicles, though Toyota has not yet confirmed a launch date.
