米国ホンダは、2018年から2022年モデルのホンダ・オデッセイ計44万8300台をリコールすると発表した。同社によると、エアバッグモジュールの展開基準値のキャリブレーションが過敏に設定されているため、路面の凹凸や段差などの衝撃でサイドカーテン・サイドエアバッグが誤作動する可能性があるという。
エアバッグの誤作動により、衝突やけがのリスクが高まるおそれがある。ホンダは、2017年1月24日から4月2日までの間に、この問題に関連するけがが25件報告されたとしている。死亡事故は確認されていない。
対象車両の所有者には郵送で通知が送られ、認定ディーラーにてSRS ECUの再プログラムまたは交換が無償で行われる。改修内容はエアバッグの展開パラメータの最適化だという。
