米電気自動車（EV）メーカーのリビアンは12日、ジョージア州に建設中のEV工場について、生産目標の見直しを発表した。
同社は当初、工場を2段階で建設し、それぞれ年間20万台の生産能力を持つ計画で、総生産能力は年間40万台を目指していた。しかし、米エネルギー省（DOE）との融資条件の見直しにより、年間生産目標を30万台に引き下げることを決定した。
これにより、DOEからの融資額も変更され、当初の66億ドルから45億ドルに減額された。DOEは、リビアンがより早期に年間30万台の生産能力を達成できるよう支援する方針だ。
リビアンは、ジョージア州工場の建設を加速させ、計画よりも前倒しで生産能力を達成する計画としている。
