Porsche has reclaimed the Nürburgring Nordschleife electric vehicle (EV) lap record with a stunning performance that defied expectations. The German automaker’s Taycan Turbo GT, equipped with the Weissach Pack and Manthey Kit, completed a lap in 6:55.553—nearly four seconds faster than the 3,000-horsepower Yangwang U9 Xtreme.
The record-setting lap was driven by Porsche development driver Lars Kern, marking another milestone for the Taycan lineup.
Lexus Unveils Three-Row Electric SUV, the TZ
Lexus has introduced its first three-row electric SUV, the TZ, built on the same platform as the all-new, electric-only Toyota Highlander. The TZ promises up to 300 miles of range and comes standard with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.
On the Highlander platform, the TZ delivers 338 horsepower. Lexus has announced that pricing and additional details will arrive later in 2024, with dealerships expected to receive the TZ in late 2026.

Porsche wasn’t the only Volkswagen Group brand to achieve a Nürburgring milestone. The Golf GTI Edition 50 has set a new record as the fastest front-wheel-drive production car at the Nürburgring, completing a lap in 7:44.523.
