Porsche has introduced an electric version of its popular Cayenne Coupé, positioning it as the brand’s most powerful vehicle to date—surpassing both internal combustion and electric models. The Cayenne Coupé Electric shares its mechanical architecture with the standard Cayenne Electric but features a sleeker body designed to enhance range and performance.
While the front end mirrors the Cayenne Electric, the rear design draws inspiration from BMW’s X-series, according to Porsche. The model’s bulbous rear improves aerodynamics, achieving a drag coefficient of just 0.23. Additionally, it sits nearly an inch lower than the standard SUV, lending it a more race-ready aesthetic. The vehicle accommodates four adults and includes a 3.2 cubic foot frunk.
Three Models, Three Power Levels
The lineup consists of the Cayenne Coupé Electric, Cayenne S Coupé Electric, and Cayenne Turbo Coupé Electric. All three models utilize an 800-volt architecture, enabling ultra-fast charging up to 400 kW. Under ideal conditions, this allows a 10-80% recharge in just 16 minutes.
The 113 kWh battery delivers an estimated 415 miles in WLTP testing, translating to approximately 350 miles under EPA standards. Power outputs vary by model:
- Cayenne Coupé Electric: 408 hp (442 hp with overboost)
- Cayenne S Coupé Electric: 544 hp (666 hp with overboost)
- Cayenne Turbo Coupé Electric: 857 hp (1,156 hp with overboost)
The Turbo Coupé Electric accelerates from 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 162 mph, making it one of the quickest luxury electric SUVs available.
Luxury and Technology Inside
The sloping roofline reduces interior space compared to the standard Cayenne Electric, but Porsche prioritizes comfort and cutting-edge tech. Features include:
- Optional electrochromic panoramic roof with adjustable tint
- Power-operated doors
- Choice of premium trims, including leather upholstery
- Hybrid digital and physical controls
- A single long screen spanning from the left edge of the console to the passenger-side vent
- Customizable graphics, AR heads-up display, and personalized app integration
