Shelby American is marking a decade of high-performance F-150 trucks with a new anniversary edition that delivers over 810 horsepower (596 kW). The limited-run model combines aggressive suspension upgrades, a Borla exhaust system, and bold styling cues to create a halo truck that pushes the boundaries of the segment.
Celebrating 10 Years of Shelby F-150 Performance
A decade ago, the idea of a factory-backed Ford F-150 with Shelby badging seemed far-fetched. Today, these trucks remain controversial—often criticized for their impracticality—but they have carved out a unique luxury-performance niche. Shelby American’s anniversary edition aims to reinforce its role in shaping that segment.
Engine and Performance Upgrades
The anniversary truck begins as a Ford F-150 Lariat SuperCrew 4×4 equipped with the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8. Shelby then enhances it with a Stage 2 supercharger kit, upgraded injectors, a carbon fiber intake tube, a performance heat exchanger, and a Shelby-tuned Borla exhaust system. The result is a power output exceeding 810 hp, though torque figures have not yet been disclosed.
Suspension and Handling Enhancements
Unlike many high-performance trucks designed solely for drag strip dominance, Shelby’s anniversary edition is engineered for versatility. The company collaborated with King Shocks to develop a proprietary suspension package featuring:
- Race Series 2.5 adjustable coilovers and rear shocks
- Traction bars for improved stability
- A lift system designed to enhance both on-road handling and off-road capability
The truck rides on massive 35-inch BFGoodrich KO3 tires mounted on 22-inch wheels, while Baer drilled and slotted rotors provide enhanced braking performance.
Aggressive Styling and Premium Interior
The anniversary edition embraces a bold, muscle-truck aesthetic with:
- A functional ram-air hood
- A revised grille and painted fender vents
- Body-color flares and power running boards
- Racing-style stripes (10 exterior colors and six stripe finishes available)
- Matching grille lettering (a first for Shelby F-150 models)
Inside, the truck features leather upholstery, carbon fiber-style trim, billet pedals, embroidered floor mats, digital gauges, and serialized anniversary plaques.
Limited Production and Pricing
Shelby American plans to produce just 600 units of the anniversary edition in the U.S. The starting MSRP is set at $140,795, which includes the donor Ford F-150 Lariat (estimated at $77,170 MSRP). This means buyers are effectively paying over $60,000 for Shelby’s upgrades alone—roughly the cost of a new 405 hp Ford Ranger Raptor (starting at $57,270).
Despite the steep price, Shelby’s anniversary edition joins a growing list of six-figure pickups that continue to attract buyers seeking exclusivity and performance.
