Aston Martin’s next performance-focused GT is on the way. Fresh spy shots from the Nürburgring captured a camouflaged Vanquish S prototype, signaling a hotter variant of the recently launched GT flagship.

A More Focused Vanquish S Emerges

The prototype, finished in matte black with green camouflage, featured several key upgrades over the standard Vanquish. A more aggressive front splitter and sharper aerodynamic details suggested a tighter GT experience, aligning with the template set by the recently introduced DB12 S.

The car’s rear end drew the most attention. A section of the tailgate was replaced with mesh, revealing two oversized exhaust outlets behind the standard quad tailpipes. Two additional exhausts were mounted in the diffuser area, bringing the total to eight—though these are likely temporary development hardware rather than the final setup.

The prototype also carried an “Emissions Test Vehicle” sticker beneath the ducktail spoiler and a “Prototype Vehicle” marking along the side skirts, leaving little doubt about its purpose.

Power Upgrades: Twin-Turbo V12 Targets 850+ HP

The standard Vanquish already delivers 824 hp (614 kW / 835 PS) and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) from its twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Vanquish S is expected to push beyond 850 hp, with sharper chassis tuning and a more aggressive bodykit.

Aston Martin has not officially confirmed the Vanquish S, but the prototype’s features and the DB12 S’s precedent strongly suggest its arrival. The current-generation Vanquish debuted in September 2024, with the S variant likely to debut in late 2026 or early 2027.

Competitive Landscape: Vanquish S vs. Ferrari 12Cilindri and Lamborghini Revuelto

When it arrives, the Vanquish S will compete with high-performance GTs like the front-engined Ferrari 12Cilindri and the mid-engined Lamborghini Revuelto, further solidifying Aston Martin’s presence in the supercar segment.
