The electric Jeep Wagoneer S will not be available for the 2026 model year, according to reports confirmed by Car Driver. The vehicle is set to return in 2027 with a NACS charging port and several key improvements.
Sales of the Wagoneer S have plummeted, with only 175 units sold in the first quarter of 2026. This follows a total of 10,864 units sold in the United States in 2025, a figure that included aggressive discounting by dealers—up to $25,000 off—to clear inventory after the federal tax credit was eliminated.
In the fourth quarter of 2025, dealers sold 438 Wagoneer S crossovers. That number dropped to just 175 in Q1 2026, putting the company on track to sell only 700 units for the entire year.
Wagoneer S Returns in 2027 with NACS Port and Updates
Despite the dismal sales figures, the Wagoneer S is not being discontinued. Instead, it will take a one-year hiatus in 2026, similar to the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, before returning in 2027 with enhanced features.
A spokesperson for Jeep stated that production is being paced to support "future improvements in battery performance, software, and capability."
The most significant update for the 2027 model is the addition of a NACS port, which will allow owners to access Tesla Superchargers without an adapter.
Price Remains a Major Hurdle
While the updates are welcome, the Wagoneer S faces a steep price challenge. The base model starts at $65,200, while the Launch Edition—which includes a 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS) powertrain—is priced at $70,200.
For comparison, the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT starts at $53,395 and can be upgraded to 480 hp (358 kW / 487 PS) with the GT Performance Upgrade for an additional $1,295. Despite having slightly less power, the Mustang Mach-E GT accelerates from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.3 seconds, compared to the Wagoneer S’s 3.4 seconds.
