Why Was the Recall Issued?

In its recall notice, Ghirardelli states that internal testing revealed no contamination. The company explains that it issued the recall “out of an abundance of caution.”

Ghirardelli has placed a significant portion of the affected powdered drink mixes on hold at its warehouses and is working with partners to retrieve or dispose of potentially affected beverage mixes that were already distributed.

Fast Company has reached out to California Dairies for further details. The story will be updated if a response is received.
