Yelp continues to integrate artificial intelligence into its platform, introducing new tools designed to enhance user convenience. The latest update to Yelp Assistant, the company’s agentic AI chatbot, now supports natural language queries for finding local businesses and performing actions such as making restaurant reservations or ordering takeout.
Expanded Capabilities and Third-Party Integrations
Initially launched in 2024 with limited functionality, Yelp Assistant received significant upgrades in 2025. The latest enhancements allow the chatbot to interact with third-party services, including Vagaro, ZocDoc, and Calendly, enabling users to book appointments in related fields directly through the chatbot.
Accessibility and Future Rollouts
Yelp Assistant is now accessible via a dedicated Assistant tab in the iOS and Android apps. For certain business types, such as restaurants and retail shops, users can also access the chatbot directly from business pages. Support for all business categories and a desktop version of the chatbot are planned for release in 2026.
Additional AI Features on the Horizon
Beyond chatbot improvements, Yelp is introducing a personalized home page on mobile and enhanced photo discovery tools as part of its spring product updates.
